Ordering Note: In order to obtain the "Super-Tron Unpgrade" it must be purchased on same shopping cart as the Electron it is intended to be used on. There are additional features machined into the wing to accept the upgrades and only 1 set of wings will be included in the kit.
Safety Note: The Super Tron upgrade greatly increases the damage this model can do to persons and property. DSing is inherently dangerous and extreme care must be taken when operating these models. As with all Tuff Planes Products, by the act of using the final user-assembled product, the user accepts all resulting liability.
|Here's an email from Dr Gerhard in Hamburg,
"Congratulations for Electron DS60, I received the Electron a week after the order, no problems with custom, delivery at home. I'm addicted to dynamic soaring since 4 to 5 years and started with a glas fiber sailplanes. The conditions for ds are not so good in Hamburg, in my district there is only a small hill of rumble. the diameters you have to fly are approximately 10 to 20 meters. Normal sailing can also be done on the fronside and the steep coast of the baltic or north sea. The risk of damaging the sailplanes is very high and so I tried the first Joe Wurts ds-planes (48 inch), some germans epp (1,50 meter) and the Pluto (60 inch) from NCFM, USA. The electron is the best and is nearly compariable to the glas fiber sailplane miniellipse with 1,50 m wing span!
If the wind consitions are too bad I use a bungee start. The start height you get is also a significant feature for the glider and the electron DS 60 reaches the best height of all the epp gliders and is comparable to the height of the miniellipse of the Czechoslovakian manufacturer and distributed by Euromodelle in Germany. The unballasted weight of my electron is a little bit below 900 grams. On the steep coast I tried half of the ballast weight by combining brass and plastic cylinders and it worked good. The wind was not strong enough for the complete ballast. Because of bad experience I also used your proposal for better connection of the fuselage and wing by strengthening with a 3mm steel wire. The building description is very good together with the pictures in the net. Friends has also flown the electron and judge it as the best epp glider available at the moment.
