Mission Ridge - Fremont CA,  San Francisco Bay Area DS Record Location
Description:
Advanced Fremont location for front side Slope and back side DS.  Front side works for NW to SW.  Large and wide backside DS is excellent for figure eights and DS stunts.  Works best for W to SW with winds over 15 knots.  Fall and Winter bring the NE winds.  The winds funnel into this location making this the biggest air DS site I know of in the Bay Area.  2005 we saw winds peak to 70mph.  Bring some water up with you.  Cows dot the landscape.  Poison Oak, Deer and Rattle Snakes, coyotes, wild pigs and dogs have also been spotted so be careful.   This is the second site in the world were DS speeds in excess of 250mph have been achieved on both sides of the hill.  I believe this is now the 3rd fastest hill in the world and the only hill in the world that has 250+ speeds in both directions!.
Kings of the Hill:
West Wind:  Mickey C., 256 mph w. Crawley 75" Storm  12/31/05 in 40+mph winds
East Wind: Mickey C., 276 mph,  Crawley 75" Storm on 1/23/06 in 40+mph wind
Foamy:  Norm M. 182.9, 60"
Screaming Banshee

To get a perspective on this site, the small valley were the cows are standing is the furthest most point on the front side image.
